1:1250 Site Location Plan

When to choose 1:1250
Choose 1:1250 when the authority needs to identify the application site in relation to roads, neighbouring plots and other landmarks. This is the usual urban site location plan scale. A separate 1:500 block plan is often requested when the application also needs close site-layout detail.
What the sample shows
The Cambridge samples show 2, 3, 4 and 5.1 hectare coverage options at the same printed scale. Increasing coverage changes how much area is framed; it does not turn the sheet into a different scale. You can compare Colour Pop and Black & White for every option.
At 1:1250, 1 cm on the printed page represents 12.5 metres on the ground. This gives more surrounding context than 1:500. If the site is too large for the available 1:1250 coverage, a 1:2500 location plan may be a better fit.
The sample is centred on King's College, Cambridge and marked EXAMPLE. It illustrates the map output; mark your own site boundary and check the local authority's requirements when creating your plan.
