What is a site plan?
A site plan shows your property and the land around it on an accurate map base. For planning applications, start with the site-plan builder and choose the scale required by your checklist. Councils commonly ask for two outputs: a site location plan (typically 1:1250) showing the wider context with a red-line boundary, and a block plan (typically 1:500) showing the detailed layout of the proposal.
This tool emails you a free site map to help you visualise the site. Because it uses OpenStreetMap and is not drawn to scale, it cannot be used for a submission — but you can generate the compliant version in a couple of clicks.
