Who is the API for?
Approved businesses creating maps for their own projects and client deliverables. Public resale and embedded ordering platforms are outside the initial offering.
Which formats are planned for the OS Maps API?
OS MasterMap Topography in PNG, PDF, DXF and DWG. OS Open Zoomstack contextual maps in PNG and PDF. Supported areas are within Great Britain; each quote checks dataset coverage.
Can I test before generating live maps?
Yes. Approved accounts can use test keys, a simulated balance and synthetic sample files. The sandbox does not spend your live balance.
Are the maps ready for planning submission?
The API does not infer or draw a property boundary. Check and annotate the output for your project before using it in an application.
What about aerial imagery, trees and terrain?
Explore ArborLayer tree information, aerial imagery and OS Terrain 5 contours, spot heights and elevation grids. Layer pricing and output combinations are shown in the example.
